Desk & Workstation Modules
|
Whether it's for power
only, voice only, data only or any combination of the three, we will probably
already have designed the module; if not, a bespoke module can be designed
to suit specifications.
Power Options can
include:
Standard or non-standard (13 Amp) sockets or, sockets for another country;
with or without leads: leads, with or without plugs: in-line fuse, 20Amp
DP Control Switch with neon indicator, ELCB, RCD, MCB/RCD.
Data Connections
can include:
RJ45, IBM/LAN, 25-pin, BNC
Voice Sockets can
include:
RJ45, LJ 6C, LJ 21/A, RJ11
In response of power, modules will be built to conform either to BS 6396
or the Wiring Regulations of the I.E.E., or, where appropriate, both.

Double-Shuttered

The first real
improvement to the 13 Amp socket in fifty years!

The sliding, double-shuttered socket is another first for the Company.
Protected by worldwide patents, here is the ultimate in a safety socket.
Ideal in desking
environments: Prevent ingress of dirt and dust and, more importantly,
staples!
Splash-proof: Gives more time to wipe up hat upset cup of coffee.
A positive deterrent to socket vandals.
General
- Socket densities
can vary. e.g. if transformers (chargers) are prevalent, sockets could
be at 150 mm pitch instead of 78 mm pitch.
- Modules in metal
and black leatherette finish. Fully earthed screened against data interference.
- Modules able to
contain POWER, VOICE and DATA, all in one module.
- Sockets can be
different colours, red, yellow, blue, white - standard or non-standard.
- Sockets can be
supplied with the unique double-shuttered arrangement - unique to Electropatent.
- Modules are available
with all types of circuit protection - MCB/RCD, in-line fuse, D. P.
20 amp resistive and inductive switch, i.e. 20/20.
MCB only, RCD only.
- All modules employ
the Electropatent unique, patented, busbar system.
B.S.
6396
Electropatent desk modules fall outside the scope of BS6396. As a result
of the following:-
- No restriction
on number of sockets - 2 to 20 socket modules available.
- Lead length not
restricted to 2 m.
- 3.15 and 6.3 Amp
fuses not used - only BS1362 fuses used e.g. 3, 5, 7,
10 and 13 Amp. Not prone to rupturing easily; easily replaceable.
- Very wide range
of options available e.g. modules with terminal chamber: modules with
Wieland Connectors each end, and so on.
- Modules are categorised
as portable appliances and relevant testing applies.
Electricity
at Work
- There is a requirement
to test at least 10% of terminals per annum. Because of the use of the
busbar system, sockets do not have terminals therefore nothing to check.
The only terminals are on modules with a terminal chamber containing
a maximum of three terminals. Overall saving to end user inestimable!
